Converse x Sonni – Art Basel Miami

When it comes to street art and graffiti, few events are as highly anticipated as Art Basel Miami Beach. For the past forty years, Art Basel has been one of the most prestigious annual event for artists, galleries, curators and collectors. In recent years, Miami’s Wynwood Arts District has moved towards center stage as street artists from all over the world continue to cover every surface of the neighborhood with elaborate murals and other works of art.
After years of supporting the independent music scene, Converse began extending its support of creatives to also include independent visual artists through an ongoing mural series called “Wall to Wall.” This series invites 12 internationally recognized street artists to transform 12 city walls into large outdoor murals in various cities around the world.
Because of 12ozProphet’s unique position within the street art community, Converse reached out to us to partner on a special installment of the “Wall to Wall” series in celebration of Art Basel Miami 2013. The result was a mural by Sonni in the heart of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. Leveraging our access, as well as our ability to execute, publish and amplify, we developed an engaging custom content feature that resonates far and wide throughout the global creative community; bringing Converse into the middle of the cultural conversation in an organic and credible way.
