Million Dollar Vandal Book

Million Dollar Vandal is the story of one of New York City’s most reviled citizens, a graffiti writer named Robert Morrissey. As Desa, the moniker that brought him the hate, Morrissey was infamous. There were graffiti writers who did more damage, but no one matched Desa when it came to bad luck: he was simultaneously in the midst of a hard-luck life and finding himself the whipping boy of New York’s law enforcement whenever it needed to make its crackdown on graffiti visible. Desa’s legal trials for graffiti made front-page headlines, the notoriety for which Desa alternately relished and ran from. Million Dollar Vandal chronicles the story of Desa’s violent and tragic life, from his Bushwick childhood through the present day as a reclusive, unemployed man, every bit of it punctuated with the graffiti that has brought him fame and a world of trouble. Produced, published and distributed by 12ozProphet Studio, Million Dollar Vandal is a 192 page, full color and hardbound book dedicated to the legacy of Desa and the troubled life of Robert Morrissey. Featuring magnificent print, photographic, and production quality, Million Dollar Vandal displays to the word a rarely seen look at the underbelly of graffiti culture.
